This cutting board was a gift for my sister, who requested that I include some purple in the design if possible. I loved the idea and challenged myself to work entirely with leftover scrap wood from past projects. I ended up using a combination of cherry, maple, and purpleheart, carefully selecting and arranging the pieces to create a balanced and visually striking pattern. The purpleheart added just the right pop of color while the warm tones of the cherry and maple helped ground the piece. I squared the scraps using a belt sander to ensure clean glue joints, and then edge-glued the strips into a seamless board.
